Create Your Own Luck

Some say, luck is decided by our fate or believe that some formulate souls are mysteriously born under a lucky star. At a quick glance it might look like there is a truth to that. After all, some people’s lives overflow with abundance. Dictionary defines luck as, “A force that brings good fortune”. So, if luck is a force, you should be able to tap into it at any time! There are ways in which you can tap into positive force. Indeed luck is the product of our own mental focus. Imagine that by changing your focus, you can intentionally increase the amount of luck you experience in all areas of life.

Trust your Gut

We all have a gut feeling when our stomach appears to be telling our brain, what to do. How we respond to that feeling may have a lot to do with our luck. Researchers once asked their participants to fill out a questionnaire concerning the role of intuition in their lives. The survey asked them to indicate whether they had trusted their gut when making decisions. Almost 90 percent of lucky people said they trusted their intuition in regards to personal relationships and nearly 80 percent said that it played a large role in their career choices. On the other hand, unlucky people trusted their gut far less; scoring roughly 20 percent less in those areas.

Expect the best

It is called the Pygmalion effect: You get what you expect and lucky people expect the best. They are certain that their future is going to be full of good fortune. And these expectations become self-fulling prophecies. Ask around and you will find that ‘lucky’ and ‘unlucky’ people have astoundingly different expectations.

Take baby steps

Success does not happen overnight. In truth, it takes a lot of work to move forward, and it can sometimes feel overwhelming. The best and most effective way to accomplish what you want, to stay open to the lucky forces of the universe, is to take your dreams one small baby step at a time.

Try it

Two of the best ways to ‘be lucky’ are to be willing to take calculated risks and to embrace unexpected opportunities. Try new things, go new places. Do not just do the things for which you know the eventual outcome. Stretch yourself. Go outside your comfort zone!

Ask for what you want

It is no accident that those who are lucky and get what they want, actually ask for it. Trust your desires and make requests without apology. Go for it! And if your request is turned down, consider the answer to be a temporary ‘No’. It is okay to ask for what you want again, later, at a different time.

Scope out the scene

We overlook and take much of our everyday existence for granted so; observation is the key when launching your own experiments. Merely paying attention is a game changer to the way you make decisions. Tune into everything from dress habits to etiquette around technology. Ask yourself, “What dominates?”, “What is rewarded or punished?”. Regardless of your intimacy with subject, observe your own life and spare no detail. And remember, Truth is often revealed in actions, not words. So make a habit of tuning into the world you inhabit and soon your life will be in a constant stat of experimentation.
